WHAT ARE STRUT MOUNTS?

Strut mount are a major component that is part of a strut assembly that can or cannot be serviceable depending on the vehicle's suspension type. Generally, strut mounts are replaced at the point when the strut assembly is removed and replaced.

Strut mounts serve two purposes on your vehicle's suspension system. First, a strut mount act as a mounting point where the strut can be mounted onto the vehicle and secondly strut mounts take on and reduce vibration from road bumps and potholes.

If your vehicle has 4WD suspension, your vehicle come equipped with four strut mounts. Whereas front or rear wheel drive suspension vehicles normally are equip with only two. Refer to your particular vehicles repair manual or your local auto parts store for your vehicle's suspension type.
